Find the right Penguin for your room
This calculator is based on the standard guide of 1 kW per 14 m³ of room volume, adjusted for your insulation and glazing.
Room Dimensions
Insulation Level
Poor = solid walls, single glazing or no loft insulation · Good = cavity walls, double glazing, fully insulated
Consider how quickly your house cools down when the heating goes off. A poorly insulated house will not retain the heat for long.
Window & Glazing
Number of External Walls
How many of the room's walls face outside, rather than an adjoining room or corridor?
The calculator cannot take into account all unseen factors in your home or how many hours a day you plan to have the stove lit, so tends to underestimate the output required. It is only an estimate and must be confirmed by a home survey prior to purchase.
Order from the comfort of your chair
We have an amazing network of stockists to go and visit, click for your nearest but if you would prefer to sit back and relax and request that they contact you, look no further. All stove installations require a fireplace survey, you can request that too, without even getting up! Your penguin is waiting for you!
Send us a few details and we will make sure your local dealer gets in touch with you.
We sell through a national network of independent specialist shops who can offer specialist advice about stoves and their installation and employ or personally recommend accredited installers. Once a stove is fitted, the flue system is completely out of sight, so if anything is done incorrectly it's not visible and you won't know about it until it goes wrong. No system is perfect but we believe that this is the best way to endure safe and compliant installation and aftercare.
If you see one for sale online, be aware that it may not be a genuine Penguin and the extended guarantee will not be available.
